Product Summary:

Zimecterin 1.87 Ivermectin Single Dose Paste

All horses carry parasites, but proper management will control them. Establishing good sanitation practices and maintaining a regular deworming schedule are a crucial to maintaining the good health of your horse. Not doing so can be dangerous, and can even cause death.

Controlling the growth of parasites depends on three factors: accurate identification, immediate treatment, and effective prevention. Know the type of parasites that inhabit your horse by administering a fecal egg per gram test at least once each year. Use a paste dewormer at the beginning of the grazing season and throughout the year, as test results deem necessary. Minimize your horse’s risk of reinfestation with adequate stabling and upkeep of its' environment.

Always dose according to your horse’s weight, not size. Appropriate rotation of ingredients (not products) is crucial. Avoid overlap of active ingredients every time you deworm to ensure your horse receives the necessary combination of medicines to stay healthy.

Zimecterin® Gold is a potent, broad spectrum antiparasitic agent, approved by the FDA to eliminate 61 species and stages of equine parasites, including tapeworms and the arterial stages of S. vulgaris, with a single dose. It is safe for horses, breeding stallions and foals over 5 months of age. Each syringe treats up to 1,250 pounds.

Zimecterin® Anthelmintic is a combination anthelmintic and boticide, one of the most effective parasite management courses available. This rotation-free wormer provides control for 60 species and stages of equine parasites. Proven safe for all horses. One syringe treats up to 1,250 pounds.

Healing of summer sores involving extensive tissue changes may require other appropriate therapy in conjunction with treatment with ZIMECTERIN® Paste. Reinfection, and measures for its prevention, should also be considered. Consult your veterinarian if the condition does not improve.

how long until you need to do it again?
A shopper on Mar 5, 2015
Best Answer: There are various different opinions about deworming. However often you do it, you should rotate which chemical is used to help avoid parasite immunity. Your horse's veterinarian is your best resource to recommend how often and with which product you should deworm.

Is this product flavored!?
Amanda L on Sep 17, 2016
Best Answer: I don't believe it is, there's no smell of any flavoring when we administer it to our horses. They don't act like it tastes real bad but we always give them carrots or apples right afterwards.

nancy on May 11, 2017
Best Answer: My horse does not have evidence of tapeworms so it must be working. I use wormer medication about 4 times a year for prevention.
