The muzzle should not fit tight but should have a few fingers space between the muzzle and horse. The muzzle should be positioned so that the bars run vertically (north and south). To attach the muzzle, loop the four straps over the noseband and chinstrap. (The two side straps may be looped through the halter rings for added stability.) Leave the metal rings in the down position to allow the muzzle to breakaway.
