Why did you choose this? Store
These reins are great, esp. if you ride a larger horse. Nice & long, don't have to stretch your arms way out. Can ride in a more relaxed position. Good quality. Nice weight w/ good substance.

I chose this rein for length and price. Other reins were 8' or even 7' long, not long enough. Reins of this length are available for $50+ other places.

Mary A on May 1, 2018
For western pleasure/trail you really need long reins, at least 9'-10'. I had these in blue for years and love them. I had a trail accident and my horse stepped on them and broke them, and I immediately went to replace them.
Jamie H on Apr 13, 2018
I'm working on quicker response training with my horse and wanting a soft, single rein.

I like the extra long length. roping reins are too short. my horse has a long neck and moves with his head very low. these reins are perfect for him. and, they are easy on/off for when I switch back to my split reins for other activities.
Jennifer R on Aug 24, 2017
Other shoppers thought it was a good choice, plus this is the only 10 foot soft reins I could find.
Pamela S on Jul 6, 2017
"I Have a 12yr old paint quarter horse mare who has grown very cranky from previous owner pulling on her mouth so i want to try this with the side pull rope halter while i retrain her. Also i like the easy release clasps.
mamapaws25 on Jun 1, 2017
I like the snaps on this rein and I like not having two separate reins. I hope that the grip is as comfortable as State Line Tack says.
Linda H on Jun 1, 2017
I needed a new pair of reins for showing and a pair with no end
Allison B on Feb 4, 2017
I actually chose the purple ones. I chose them because they are light and comfortable for my hands. They are also convenient because of the clips. I can easily put them on different bridles.

I like the extra long reins because my horse has a long neck and when he drinks from a creek or whatever I don't have to be reaching halfway down his neck to hold onto the reins.

are they stretchy?
sherryl b on Sep 23, 2017
BEST ANSWER: I would not call them stretchy but they are long, lightweight and wonderful. My horse is 16.1 and I am a short armed 5 ft. 2 inch woman. These reins give me enough length so that I can have plenty of slack or less slack and make a small loop. Hope this helps.
are these flat or round?
A shopper on Mar 20, 2017
BEST ANSWER: They are round. I absolutely love these reins. They are durable, and feel very comfortable and soft in the hands and have awesome colors too! Defiantly a good buy.
Are these adjustable to 9' ? Or other lengths ?
Sheila R on Mar 17, 2017
BEST ANSWER: They are 10 ft and not adjustable
Are they washable?
A shopper on Oct 27, 2016
BEST ANSWER: you can wipe them down , not sure what you mean washable , throwing in washing in washer - no , but I'd say yes you can wipe them down and rinse them , they are nice thick reins
Length of reins?
A shopper on Aug 15, 2016
BEST ANSWER: It says in the summary they are 5/8" x 10'. I have a set. They're nice and long if you want them to be, and you can easily knot them if you want them shorter.
Is the Lime striped like it is in the photo? Or is it a solid color?
Kate L on Feb 5, 2016
BEST ANSWER: Mine was black and lime striped. Good quality though
Someone had mentioned in their review that their reins had come with black leather? Is this true?
Kate L on Sep 19, 2015
BEST ANSWER: These reins come with harness leather water straps. The color of the leather varies.
Can some one send me a picture of the purple reins??? Please!
CARISA B on Jan 29, 2015
BEST ANSWER: Hi Carisa, I have the purple reins, but they are buried somewhere in my barn and I can't find them for a photo. I can tell you they are a very deep, bright, Vikings (football team) purple, if that helps.

how long are the reins?
Loren D on Aug 17, 2014
BEST ANSWER: They are 10 feet long is me memory. They are useful for tail riding since they are thick and long enough to let a horse graze easily. And vac be used as a lead line to.
how thick, how long?
Rita B on Jun 26, 2014
BEST ANSWER: The reins are obviously thicker than leather, but not so thick that they don't fit comfortably in your hand. They are really long though. They are long on my pony that has a fairly long neck. That being said, I like the length. However most people who borrow my pony put a knot in the end of his reins so there isn't so much extra getting caught on the horn.
Are they soft & comfortable to hold on to for long periods of time?
Ina D on Jan 18, 2014
BEST ANSWER: We trail ride for a few hours at a time. They are comfortable for me. I started using this style last year and love them more than leather reins. I like these because they are longer than the ones from most places.
