About Southern Star Animal Rescue, Inc.

Southern Star Animal Rescue, Inc. is a 501(c)(3) rescue located on a 24-acre farm outside Jersey, founded by Mara and Marcus Dover. What began with rescuing one underweight horse named Rimrock quickly grew into a mission to rescue, rehabilitate, and rehome animals in need. With backgrounds in law enforcement and fire rescue, the Dovers turned their lifelong passion for animals into a growing nonprofit dedicated to giving neglected and at-risk animals a second chance.
