I have the same bit in a happy mouth and the happy mouth was chewed. Hoping this has the same effect but with less damage

The owner of the boarding facility where I keep my mare recommended this bit. She let me borrow hers, and Honey really worked well in it; she carried it very nicely. Relaxed, nice head set.

how do i know what size bit to get for my TWH mare?
A shopper on Oct 13, 2014
BEST ANSWER: Bit size varies quite a bit within breeds. 5" bits are kind of the "medium" size of the horse bit world, and it can be difficult to find sizes like 5 1/4". However, it is important to find your horse's correct bit size to prevent pinching and other issues. Here is an article from Dover that explains bit sizing in detail. I'm not allowed to post links to outside sites, but search for "horse bit sizing" and it will pull up good articles on ways you can easily do it yourself.
how many mm thick is the bit?

BEST ANSWER: This is a 5 inch mouth piece.
Is this considered a dogbone?
A shopper on Nov 20, 2017
BEST ANSWER: I guess so. I googled it and it seems that the term "dog-bone" has been placed on anything that is a three part mouth piece. I've always called it a "three part mouth piece". Good luck.
