Well made, great price. The storage case was broken when received. Stateline offered to send another pair of clippers. I called Wahl and they are sending me a new case, no questions asked. Great customer service on both sides.

Great Product, Decent Price
These are reliable, sturdy clippers. It's nice to have the case it came in to keep things together. The case is a hard plastic, so the clippers don't get dinged. I also like having the clipper oil, video, brush, etc. I've had horses for over 45 years, thought I knew everything about clipping horses, but still learned a few tricks watching the video. Very informative. The price is very reasonable.

If you can afford more $ on clippers spend them.
Simultaneously ordered these with the KM-10 ( see my review) to see if the more expensive clippers were worth it. The ergonomic design of the KM -10 make those feel much lighter and more comfortable to hold than the Iron Horse clippers which indicates to me that there will be less arm fatigue with the KMs . The Iron Horse clippers look & feel sturdy & will probably put up with alot of abuse BUT they vibrate BIG time. There is an annoying "click" when turning the unit on & the buzz is an irritating whine to me. When weighed on an electric scale , the KM -10 is only 1 oz lighter but the balanced design was WAY more comfortable to hold and just made it feel significantly lighter. You will see lots of people saying " oh it only took me x amount of time to clip my horse with these BUT these are deceptive reviews because ' length of time to clip ' is not only effected by the clippers but the horse (size, temperament, cleanliness & coat) plus experience of the person clipping

Great Purchase
Bought these clippers to clip the hair from my horse's legs due to skin issues he has. They did a wonderful job. They can clip a lot of hair in a short amount of time which is good because my horse is not one to stand for a long period of time. I like the long cord that these clippers have. This product is not too heavy to hold if you will be using it for long periods of time and it doesn't become hot. I just keep oiling it while using.

Love these!
I just received my second set of these clippers as a Christmas gift. I had a set for 16 years that I dropped by accident a few months ago and I was really upset about it. I've had others in the meantime because I wanted a cordless set and after purchasing those was terribly disappointed because they cost more than these and were very weak. Which made trimming quite a chore. These are corded and quite heavy but after using the new ones I'm so happy I have the same exact clippers I had before. Great product!

If you are looking for an inexpensive... Very good set of clippers.. You've just found them! I only do halter paths, ears, & pasterns... I have not tried these for full body?? However other than that they cut good & are pretty quiet.. If you have a spooky horse.. The chord on the ground will scare the more than the clippers.. Definite buy!

Stateline Tack has best deal going on this clipper
My barn mate has had this clipper for ever. I bought something else years ago, and was never happy with it. Purchased this one at what I found to be the best price around, and love it. Quiet, efficient, sharp. What more does one want in a clipper?

awesome clippers
If you want economical, effective and quiet clippers, then these are for you. I have a Friesian sport horse with extremely thick, coarse hair on his legs. These are the only clippers I have found that glide right through it! I was shocked at how quiet they are. Clipped his bridle path and he didn't bat an eye. A friend recommended these to me and said she did a full body clip in one setting and the clippers never got hot. For the price, I don't know how you can go wrong with these clippers.

Great buy for the money
I am really impressed with these little clippers. They are well made and work well. We intend to only use them for light duty clipping (face/bridle path/fetlocks) and I think they will last us a long time.

I use these on my horse and dog. Had them for years and still going strong. Only complaint is they get hot after using for a while but not enough to bother me.

Has anyone body clipped their horse with these clippers? Did they work well with body clipping?
Kayla M on Jan 22, 2016
BEST ANSWER: I have been clipping horses for 40 years and these are some of the best I've ever used. Especially for the price! I currently own a Friesian draft cross that has ridiculously thick hair. This is the only pair that glides through that hair! They are very quiet and do not get hot. I body clipped half of him and they were just warm. (He's 19hh so 1/2 of him is like clipping all of one of my Arabs!). You truly cannot go wrong with these clippers. I bought them on a recommendation from a trainer and will never be without them!
i need to know if Wahl Iron horse Clipper comes with blade #10, 15, and 40?
A shopper on Jan 7, 2015
BEST ANSWER: Includes standard adjustable blade: #30-#15-#10
I have a mini pony and a pintoxsaddlbred that need to be full body clipped, would they be able to handle full body clipping them?
Meredith N on Feb 16, 2017
BEST ANSWER: If you already own this clipper use it it will do the job. However, if you are shopping for a clipper to do full body clips there are better options. With its adjustable head the Iron Horse Clipper is a general purpose, does everything clipper. For large areas to be clipped very close, I would think a clipper designed for that purpose (wide blade) would be best.
Will it cut horse mane?
A shopper on Jan 25, 2016
BEST ANSWER: We have used it to trim our horse's bridle path. Of course on the horses with thicker manes you have to take down layer by layer. It's a strong clipper and runs pretty quiet and seems to stay cooler than some of my other clippers. I bought these clippers because I teach my students how to clip and the description stated they are made stronger to stand up to dropping. They also have a longer cord than my other clippers.
Would this work for a full body clip or a blanket clip?
Elizabeth W on Aug 24, 2015
BEST ANSWER: I use it only for whiskers, bridle path, and feet. Don't know how long it would hold up doing a whole body, even though it is called Iron Horse. I like that the head has two positions. I oil it religiously, and use cool lube when using it for extended periods. I've also used it to clip my long-hair doxie. Works better than Wahl for human hair, which is what I use on my husband! Good luck!
will these work on large, thich hair dog? Can I cut the hair on a saint bernard dog with these clippers?
Louise K on Aug 7, 2015
BEST ANSWER: This clipper will work on your Saint Bernard -- but -- please keep in mind that even the #10 setting (1/16") will leave the hair short enough to cause sunburn. If you do use this clipper on your dog, please utilize a Wahl comb (item 191221) and clip WITH the lay of the hair, head to tail and shoulder to foot. Saint Bernards actually need their hair coats for cooling as well as warmth. If the issue seems to be excessive undercoat, perhaps a shedding blade will work better for you than clippers.
These work for trimming cattle?
Chad B on Mar 13, 2016
BEST ANSWER: "trimming' yes, but a full clip? I think it would work for awhile before getting clogged. Seems you'd need something made specially for that. I like these cuz they are adjustable and quiet (when you keep the blade oiled and aligned!)
does it come with a blade?
A shopper on Dec 3, 2016
BEST ANSWER: Yes, it comes with a blade. I am really impressed by these clippers. I clipped an entire horse with no problem; an old non-shedding horse with 1-2 inches of hair!
One review said it vibrated bad, has anyone else had that problem?? I have a very spooky horse and need somethig for ears, whiskers, and bridal path
danielle w on Feb 26, 2018
BEST ANSWER: I have a horse that’s is sensitive to the clipper sounds and these have always been great. No real noise at all, but there is a quiet humm of the vibration of the motor. I bought these to replace the 15 year old one that I had, which worked great until they had a very bad drop onto the concrete. I love these clippers!
What is the replacement blade for this?
A shopper on Jul 22, 2018
BEST ANSWER: This is the direct answer I got from the company. The blade replacement for that model is #2097-800. That is available through the factory direct or other farm supply stores and pet stores.. Have a good one.
I have a very large standard poodle who's coat is extraordinarily thick. Over winter it tends to get matted and takes forever to strip out with combs/brushes. Would this clipper work the same or better than the Oster Golden A5 I presently have?
Marty M on Mar 19, 2017
BEST ANSWER: I have a really thick coated miniature horse and have had issues with trimmers not getting through his coat. I have purchased 2 of these Iron Horse clippers. At first they worked well, but when the blades warm up, it stops cutting and starts pulling hair. I bought an Andis AG Super 2 speed and use the T-80 blade. I have not had any more problems. I used them 2 days ago and was able to cut through the entire horse's coat in one sitting. The most important thing about clipping is a very clean coat and use a regular hair brush to brush through first.
How does this clipper compare to the oster pro A5 2 speed clipper?
A shopper on Nov 19, 2016
BEST ANSWER: I don't know, but my trainer recommended this Iron Horse as exactly that. I bought it on her recommendation and because it isn't crazy expensive. I highly recommend the product for bridle path, whiskers, trimming fetlocks, etc. I do not body clip, so I don't know if it is stout enough to do a whole horse.
Do you carry extra wide blades for this clipper?
Julie T on Sep 27, 2016
BEST ANSWER: I'm sorry, we only carry the standard size blade for the Iron Horse.
