This is a longer shank gag bit that offers more control when working on rate, bend, or lift.  Great for the practice pen to work out the kinks you may be having in a run.  This bit is a tool for intermediate or advanced riders working on more bend and flex at the poll. The longer shank offers the rider more control than the Short Shank Josey Banana Gag. This bit applies pressure to the bars of the horse's mouth to increase responsiveness. Its design is intended for slow or dry work and is great for getting a horse to submit to pressure.

Remember: start with the lightest bit possible and progress from there. It's difficult to move backwards. Stage C bits are built for riders and horses who love neck reining.
